Capcom is making strides into the mobile gaming sector with its classic survival horror franchise, introducing Resident Evil 2 to iOS users. While Resident Evil 7: Biohazard faced challenges in sales shortly after its mobile launch, particularly due to its limited accessibility, Capcom remains committed to expanding its mobile offerings.
The next highly anticipated title to reach iOS will be Resident Evil 2. To access this game, users need to have an iPhone 15 Pro or later, or an iPad or Mac equipped with an M1 chip or above, all operating on iOS 17 or macOS 13.0 or later. The remake of this iconic title is slated to be available by the end of 2024.
Although a specific release date has not yet been confirmed, it's worth noting that the Resident Evil 4 remake was successfully launched on mobile devices in December 2023, spurring speculation that Capcom may aim for a similar timeframe with Resident Evil 2. Currently, it is known that the game will require 22.1 GB of storage on devices, feature localization for various languages, and include options for in-app purchases.
